Dr. Michelle Kasprzak is an established contributor to the field of digital culture as a curator, educator, writer, and artist. Currently she is the Course Leader of the Master Design at the Piet Zwart Institute, as well as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. Michelle is also a Lecturer for the Digital Art department at the University of Applied Arts, Vienna, Austria.

Over the past 20+ years, Michelle has curated exhibitions and public programmes for biennials and organizations across North America and Europe, primarily in the realm of contemporary digital art. Her writing has appeared in numerous periodicals and exhibition catalogues. She is a sought-after moderator and event host, having worked with VPRO, Het Nieuwe Instituut, Sandberg Institute, and many others. She is on the Board of Trustees of Mediale, and the Advisory Board of PUBLIC journal.

Michelle’s current creative practice spans writing, conceptual design, and digital media works, and she has benefited from the support of the Canada Council for the Arts and the Creative Industries Fund NL.

She is the founder of Little Earth Mountain, a label for artist’s multiples and printed matter focused on landscape, language, and desire. Little Earth Mountain soft-launched with the release of Blue 23, a tract responding to the series of Belgian Surrealist tracts called Correspondance.

In 2020, she obtained her PhD with the UT Austin|Portugal CoLab, University of Porto. Her dissertation, “Curating-with: Artistic Methodologies for Social Innovation and Community-focused Acts of Care, Maintenance, and Repair”, was supervised by Sandra Silva (U Porto) and Chris Csíkszentmihályi (Cornell).
